Town Department received calls from residents over the
weekend regarding water damage to their basements. The
Town of Shrewsbury has met with officials from the Federal
Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and Massachusetts Emergency

Commission has taken specific action due to the unusually

Police Release Composite
of Woman Posing as Nurse - Police
have released a composite sketch of the woman wanted in
connection with the unarmed robbery of a 92 year old resident
last Tuesday night. She is described as a white or Hispanic
female, 5’-8”, short brown hair, with a round
face. The woman entered the victim’s residence posing
as a nurse. - more

SCDC 3rd Annual Preschool
Fair - This is just reminder that our 3rd Annual
Preschool Fair will be held next Saturday, October 15th
from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon in the Sherwood Middle School
Gym. Please join us for this informative event, which
will give you the opportunity to talk with area preschool

Shrewsbury Library
to Aid Hurricane Relief Effort - During the week
of October 24 – 30, Massachusetts libraries and
their users will help make a difference to the victims
of Hurricane Katrina. Joining this statewide effort, Shrewsbury
Public Library will suspend collection of overdue fines
that week and instead accept monetary contributions towards
hurricane relief. -- more

Relay for Life to Sponsor
Halloween Dance - On October 28, 2005 from 7pm to
11pm the Relay for Life in Shrewsbury is sponsoring
a dance at the new Knights of Columbus on South Quinsigamond
Ave. in Shrewsbury. Costumes are optional, but encouraged.

Race and Walk - Massachusett’s Veterans
Inc. is sponsoring a 5K road race and walk to commemorate
the men and women who have served our country. All proceeds
will go towards supporting programs for homeless veterans
